THE POSITION
In the role as Non-Executive Board Director the candidate is expected to think independently, challenge colleagues respectfully, and help identify opportunities for growth. The individual must be highly collaborative, engaging, mature and focused on finding practical solutions. Experience in the C-Suite from the Life Sciences industry is required.
 
ROLE PROFILE
Role: Non-Executive Board Director.
   
Reporting line: Board Chair.
   
Other roles: C&B Committee.
   
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark.
   
Traveling: None.
   
Responsibilities & Tasks:
 
  • Contribute to the delivering onf board key responsibilities :
  • a) The corporate strategy
  • b) The sound leadership of the company
  • c) Risk management
 
  • Contribute to ensuring that bookkeeping/accounts are in order
 
  • Contribute to ensuring that risk management is in order
 
  • Contribute to ensuring that the financial situation is reported and in order
 
  • Contribute to ensuring that top management is conducting its mandate in a sound manner
 
  • Contribute to ensuring that the capital resources are in order - hereunder sufficient liquidity
 
  • Attending Board meetings three times a year and a C&B Committee meeting once a year
   
Key success criteria:
 
  • Setting clear company and owner strategies - hereunder defining:
    • Owner’s plans and wishes for the company
    • Development and focus
  • Contributing to ensuring an appropriate level of complementary professional competencies on the board and identifying and addressing capability gaps
  • Contributing to ensuring shared interpersonal competencies on the board
  • Developing a successful strategy
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational background: Graduate/undergraduate degree - preferably in Business Administration or Nature Sciences or like.
   
Language: English – fluent, verbally and written.
   
Ideal experience:
  • C-Suite executive experience within the Life Sciences space and a strong track record of success in leadership or management.
  • Prior experience from Non-Executive Board Director roles.
  • Experience with corporate governance, strategy development, and risk management.
  • Global experience. 
  • Financial Acumen, hereunder comfort with financial statements and key performance indicators.

Well-versed in recognizing pitfalls and opportunities to make a business better. Strong commercial understanding.

Documented high level sense of integrity, ethics. Demonstrated track record of compliance with corporate Codes of Conduct.
