In our client's Buildings and Industry division where the role will reside, colleagues work on landmark pharma projects – from manufacturing and warehouse facilities to sustainable laboratories.

Our client has significant involvement in the pharmaceutical sector, working on complex projects in areas like life science facilities and healthcare infrastructure. These projects often involve designing and coordinating engineering aspects for GMP-regulated facilities, focusing on sustainability and digitalization on projects.

The company leverages expertise in areas such as electrical engineering, clean utilities, cooling systems, and other complex engineering disciplines within regulated environments. 
 
THE POSITION
Our client is currently looking for a high calibre Multidiscipline Project Director to take a seat on the Project Leadership Team of key pharma projects. The role will become part of a multidisciplinary environment working on landmark projects across sectors – from smart pharma warehouses to sustainable laboratories.

Multidiscipline Project Manager’s (MPM) at our client is seen in the broad sense, typically engulfing either:
  • Project Management services to Client (PMC) on Medium to Very High Risk projects involving a multidisciplinary team, and/or
  • Management of multidisciplinary design projects including all disciplines, and/or
  • Management of multidisciplinary projects, in which the Client does not distinguish between design consultancy and client consultancy – the Client has only one consultant.
At our client MPM’s serve as both design and client consultants with responsibility for mentoring and supporting development of the Project Managers in their Executing Unit while leading projects with a strong focus on sustainable and livable solutions.

POSITION PROFILE
Position title: Pharma Project Director.
   
Reporting line: VP, Head of Projects.
   
Location: Greater Copenhagen.
   
Traveling: Limited. However, the role may on some projects require significant on-site presence (mainly in North/East Zealand).
   
Responsibilities & Tasks:
 
  • Leading the Project Team on Pharma projects.
  • Leading pharma projects from concept to completion.
  • Managing complex stakeholder environments, including public authorities, contractors, and
design partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with GMP or other pharma-related standards.
  • Overseeing scope, schedule, risk, and cost management.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • Driving collaboration across disciplines and geographies within our client.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing project team members.
  • Undertaking a role as Project Manager Mentor (PMM) with the objective of ensuring that Project Manager’s in executing unit Building & Industry East feel safe and supported throughout a project while developing their Project Management competencies.

  • Ensuring optimal project execution.
  • Anticipating and mitigating risks - hereunder detecting deviations from the plans early on, giving the stakeholders time to course-correct before minor issues escalate into major setbacks.
  • Facilitating transparency and accountability – hereunder ensuring the creation of a shared language among stakeholders, fostering a positive, collaborative environment where everyone understands their role in project success.
  • Delivering on metrics of time, budget, quality and effectiveness.
  • Successfully driving broad cross-functional stakeholder collaborations, alignment and communication.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational background: Degree in engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline.
   
Language: English and Danish (preferably) fluently in speech and writing.
   
Ideal experience:
  • Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on pharma/life science or healthcare-related building projects.
  • Experience leading design projects during design phases.
  • Preferably experience leading multi-disciplinary projects including for example several of the following disciplines: structural, electrical, mechanical etc.).
  • Experience leading an in-house design delivery team.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex project environments.
  • Preferably experience working with public and/or private sector pharma clients.
  • Well-versed in navigating building contracts.
