The Head of Investor Relations reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be a key stakeholder in shaping the global investor relations and external communications for our client.

With the overall responsibility for investor relations activities, as well as corporate and capital markets communication, the position has a tremendous impact on the investor community’s perception of our client. Hence, the ideal candidate possesses the ability to navigate efficiently and communicate appropriately with investors, equity analysts and other stakeholders. The job requires excellent capabilities within long-term financial operations and preferably a deep understanding of the global pharma/biotech industry.

The Head of IR will be responsible for building up the IR function from scratch, initially with focus on the Nordic investor community and subsequently the broader European and U.S. investor communities. The role will entail frequent interaction with top management and will be focal in executing our client’s global ambition to deliver superior shareholder satisfaction and profitable growth.

Location: Copenhagen.
Traveling: Travel between Denmark and US based offices on an as needed basis.
Investor relations:
  • Creating a high-performing IR and Comms function which is fully compliant with all relevant laws and regulations covering listed companies.
  • Developing global leadership of the global markets’ strategy in line with the corporate strategy.
  • Managing and overseeing an active investor relations calendar, including the planning and execution of investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and other investor-related events, and investor calls.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with current and potential investors; providing equity analysts and investors with accurate and timely information about the company strategy.
  • Providing strategic analysis of issues and determining appropriate proactive and reactive messaging to enhance and improve the organization’s reputation in support of the vision and overall strategy.

  • Leading strategic communications development with an IR focus, including preparing investor presentations, developing earnings releases and the annual report, creating background material, handouts, management Q&As, conference call scripts, and any other securities filings.
  • Managing external IR and Corporate Communications partners.
    • Bringing knowledge to and communicate with the Nordic investor community and later broader European and US investor communities.
    • Responding to investor inquires and interactions while ensuring appropriate media surveillance.
    • Providing strategic and crisis communication advice and guidelines to top management regarding media issues as well as the public relations implications of key business decisions in crisis situations.
Stakeholder management:
  • Advising management on the potential impact of business initiatives on the market and shareholders and how to communicate these to the investment community effectively.
  • Working with commercial and other key departments to ensure unified and streamlined communications efforts.
  • Leading and developing strong partnerships with external firms and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key success criteria:
  • Strengthen the Nordic investor community footprint.
  • Plan and develop IR roadshows targeting the Nordic investor community (1st priority).
    • Successful execution of phase 1 of the Nordic roadshow.
  • Plan IR roadshow for Europe and US (2nd priority)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential investors and advance investor engagement.
Educational background: The ideal candidate holds a M.Sc.-level degree.
Language: Superior English skills (verbal and written).
Ideal experience:
  • Many years of experience with Nordic/European/ US investor communities – preferably from a pharma/biotech or other healthcare related organization.
  • Proven track-record of delivering clear consistent messaging of scientific and clinical concepts across multiple stakeholders / audiences.
  • Well-versed in investor interactions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and preferably drug development.
  • Proven track-record of superior financial and investment analysis capabilities, including clear and thorough understanding of financial modelling and valuation techniques used by financial and investment professionals.
Personal & leadership competencies: Communication
Excellent verbal and written English and cross-cultural communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate complex scientific and financial issues in a clear and straightforward way
