Market Access Strategy Manager

The company develops, manufactures and sells treatments and technologies to patients in many corners of the world. The position will be responsible for initiating, planning, coordinating, and executing the market access strategy of our client in the Nordic.

Taking on an informal leadership role, and thus being part of the Nordic Leadership Team, the Market Access Strategy Manager, Nordics, will lead the national and regional market access strategies for our client in the Nordics, in close collaboration with the rest of the Nordic team.

The position will be responsible for developing and implementing market access and tender analysis, strategies, and agreements to facilitate access of the products of our client into the Nordic markets – hereunder, monitoring market opportunities with regard to country specific healthcare environments, pricing and reimbursement policies, risk analysis and adequate solutions. This also includes responsibility for co-ordinating the development of health economic processes and working with the Strategic Pricing and Commercial Manager to ensure robust reimbursement strategies while contributing to ensuring reimbursement applications/re-applications are duly submitted for new products and existing products. Lastly, the position is a unique opportunity to participate in defining the regional market access strategy of the Nordics and to represent Market Access in the Nordic Leadership Team.

The ideal candidate for this position brings solid experience from the Nordic regional payer system, particularly with TLV (primary) and Medicinrådet/Medicintilskudsnævnet as a key stakeholder, generated from the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities & Tasks: Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing local and regional Market Access strategies for the full portfolio of our client in the Nordic region, while demonstrating how patient access and key performance indicators will be achieved.
  • Monitoring the country-by-country environment for healthcare and reimbursement policies and regulations, hereunder staying abreast on trends, analyzing risks and opportunities, and proposing adequate solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, i.e.
    • -Healthcare Committees & Councils (e.g., TLV, Medicintilskudsnævnet, Medicinrådet a.o.).
    • -Regions (hereunder the regional formulary committees (e.g., lægemiddelkomité) of the local markets).
    • -Scientific Associations
    • -Patient Organisations (e.g., The Swedish Pain Society, FAKS and other stakeholders).
    • -Other relevant stakeholders.
  • Addressing barriers to access while increasing pull through of the promoted portfolio by identifying prescribers, influencers and decision-making groups that have an influence on current provision of healthcare.
  • Creating and implementing value propositions and innovative solutions to help break down the barriers to patient access, working collaboratively with the regional and Global team members where applicable.
  • Motivating and empowering the dedicated members of the KAM team to deliver on the Market Access Strategy across the Nordics.
  • Conducting regular field visits with dedicated members of the KAM team to monitor and direct them in their MA activities, whilst coaching their development.
  • Collaborating closely with the Nordics Head of Sales to provide MA support where required.
  • Collaborating closely with the Strategic Pricing & Commercial Access Manager to ensure continuity of supply and access to the portfolio of our client.
  • Creating and implementing value propositions and innovative solutions to help break down the barriers to patient access.
  • Implementing market access strategies for Nordic products of our client.
  • Complying with country regulations, company policies and procedures in every interaction.
Key success criteria:
  • Establish a clear Market Access Strategy and KPI’s for our clients products in the Nordic and deliver on key performance indicators.
  • Ensuring seamless and successful cooperation with key stakeholders – both internally and externally.
  • Successful coordination and guidance of the KAM team, hereunder bringing them ammunition to deliver on the Market Access Strategy across the Nordics.
  • Successful initiation of projects that further bring recognition to our clients value proposition and embody our clients mission and values.
Educational background: Preferably degree at B.Sc. or M.Sc.-level in Health Sciences, Economics or similar
Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish or Danish
Ideal experience:
  • Well-versed in Market Access strategy development and implementation in the Nordics.
  • Significant working knowledge and experience with the Nordic healthcare system, hereunder the local regions healthcare systems, practices and payers.
  • Ability to translate and align Healthcare Policy to business priorities.
  • Excellent understanding of patient pathway development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local reimbursement systems and connected authorities.
  • Track record of successful leading project teams and driving, executing, and delivering project success.
  • Good working knowledge of compliance requirements.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Possesses driving license.
