THE POSITION
The Position
The Managing Director will head up the company’s Danish site and will be responsible for leading and developing the organization spanning the full value chain from R&D/technology to engineering, operations, and sales. Reporting to the Global Business Unit Head of the
Pharma/Medtech Business of the Group, the role will assume full and overall site P&L Responsibility.

The site is also designated as the Global Center of Competence in Medical Devices for the entire Group.

Key to the success of the role will be the ability to ensure effective leadership of three key pillars: People, Processes, and Technology. Additionally, the ability to run a profitable operation while ensuring timely and effective project management execution is paramount.
Responsibilities also include the development and execution of effective development roadmaps, product portfolios, retention plans, pricing, and forecasting while ensuring a constant focus on continuous improvement.

Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in similar roles at the GM or Supply Chain/Development/Sales Executive level preferably. The candidate possesses experience managing independent business units/functional areas, excelling in proposal preparation, project pricing, and risk management.

Moreover, the ideal candidate is adept at quality improvements, customer-focused after-sales services, and Lean methodologies, ensuring high operational and financial standards for the site and the Group as a whole.

Responsibilities & Tasks:
 
Leading and Developing the Organization
  • Managing and developing the company with a focus on People, Processes, and Technology.
  • Making development/retention plans for key management and players while developing a solid bench to meet future staffing needs.
 
Overall P&L Responsibility
  • Ensuring profitability and market competitiveness by identifying new growth opportunities and protecting and enhancing financial performance.
  • Involving the management team in target setting and obtaining VP approval.

Ensuring Stability and High Quality in Deliveries
  • Driving improvements in operations and project management/execution while maintaining effective quality control across the value chain.
  • Developing strategic vendor relations.
  • Conducting in-depth production/capacity planning.

Pricing
  • Collaborating with RTM Sales to set prices according to the pricing strategy.
  • Defining minimum margins per project with the Sales organization.

Projects
  • Prioritizing/re-prioritizing projects and allocating resources for development and Order Fulfilment.
  • Determining project scope and necessary support from various resources.
  • Setting non-financial KPIs for Order Fulfilment and driving performance improvements to reduce customer system costs.

Continuous Improvement Focus
  • Ensuring Lean production, strategic procurement excellence, and financial transparency while driving strategic and tactical OPEX initiatives.

Development Roadmap
  • Executing the development roadmap per cluster strategy, balancing strategic and operational goals.
  • Defining business objectives and securing resources from our client and customers for sustainable growth.
  • Ensuring accurate sales forecasting, managing the opportunity pipeline, and drive value selling to meet sales targets.

Input to Cluster Strategy
  • Providing input on business cluster strategy and product portfolio roadmap.

Compliance
  • Ensuring site and staff compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
   
Key success criteria:
 
  • Achieving financial targets and market competitiveness through operational excellence – i.e. ensuring that the right structures, processes, systems and people/capabilities are set to deliver on the strategy.
  • Identifying new business opportunities while maintaining existing business to drive revenue growth.
  • Building a strong report with the site organization and strong relationships with the management team.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational background: Ideally a MSc. degree in engineering, operations management or similar, potentially combined with an MBA. Alternatively, a relevant MSc. degree from a business school combined with technical flair
   
Language: Fluency in English and Danish, verbally and in writing.
Business level German will be an added advantage
   
Ideal experience:
  • Proven track record from a similar job at GM and/or Supply Chain/Sales executive level in an internationally renowned company which is considered to be running best practice within their field.
  • Significant experience in managing and developing an organization in an international company, ideally experience from managing an independent business unit.
  • Experience of being a vital part of an international supply network (manufacturing footprint).
  • Comprehensive experience working with continuous improvement initiatives across all disciplines on site.
  • Thorough experience with proposal preparation including project price calculations.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with large BtB projects and risk management.
  • Experience with quality improvements of processes and products.
  • Experience in driving and further development of customer-oriented and value-driven after-sales services.
  • Experience with GMP, LEAN and internal optimization processes across the entire supply chain will be an advantage.
